Harrods commissioned ProGen to provide a full electrical CAT B fit-out of a new luxury linens and home department within their flagship store in London.

The Challenge

This work involved the design and build of all electrical systems under the constraint of Harrods’ technical project specifications and tight deadlines. Therefore, every aspect of the project required intense co-ordination with other service contractors onsite.

The Solution

ProGen’s project management team has many years of experience managing and implementing high-end installations within Central London.

ProGen was required to design and build all electrical systems for the project. Full design, along with design interface with suppliers and specialist sub-contractors, was managed, coordinated and executed successfully.

The full extent of Progen’s design and installation responsibility included:

• Co-ordination and Design

ProGen provided a full design of the electrical systems. With our in-house design team, we avoided any clashes from other trades services within the space.

• Lighting Infrastructure

With ProGen providing full cabling and installation of the lighting package through the space, the high-end fixtures were fitted expertly throughout.

• Power

ProGen provided the full power infrastructure throughout the space with high-end accessories carefully installed throughout. The cabling and containment was expertly installed to the high expectations of the client.

• Automation

As with all high-end installation, the automation of the lighting was an essential part of the project. ProGen provided management of external specialist contractors, as well as the base cabling to allow the automation of the entire electrical infrastructure.

• Fire alarm

ProGen provided the full fire alarm cabling and containment within the space, ensuring the system integrated with the store’s systems.

• Data Services

ProGen provided full CAT 6 cabling and containment within the space. The data cabling was installed, along with specialist accessories to match the style of the backdrop.

The Outcome

The project was completed on time and within the client’s budget. The linens and home department looked stunning, with the lighting focusing directly on the expensive and luxurious products throughout.
